Description
The Warm Audio WA76-D2 is a dual-channel discrete FET compressor that faithfully recreates two channels of the "Revision D" 1176 studio compressor. Using the same CineMag USA O-12 input and 5002 output transformers, ceramic and electrolytic capacitors, and revised low-noise preamp stage as the single-channel WA76-D, the D2 adds three stereo operating modes for flexible dual-channel compression.
Stereo Operating Modes
- Stereo Linked: Both channels compress together for stereo bus processing
- Primary:Secondary: Channel A controls Channel B for lead/follow compression
- Dual-Mono: Each channel operates independently
Modern Recording Features
Each channel includes a Dry/Wet mix knob for parallel compression, selectable input impedance (600 Ohm or 10k Ohm) to match vintage or modern gear, and a variable sidechain high-pass filter (30 to 300 Hz, 12 dB/octave) to prevent bass from driving excessive gain reduction. Both active bypass (line amplifier mode for transformer coloration) and true hard bypass are available per channel.
