Description
The Warm Audio Warm Lifter is an inline active microphone preamp that provides 26 dB of clean analog gain to low-output dynamic and ribbon microphones. Powered by 48V phantom from your interface or mixer, the Warm Lifter features a balanced JFET input with proper impedance matching, a switchable 100 Hz high-pass filter, and a 3 kHz high-shelf boost for tone shaping.
Impedance Matching and Tone Shaping
The Warm Lifter's 2.4k Ohm input impedance resolves the impedance mismatch that commonly causes signal loss, altered frequency response, and thinning when passive ribbon and low-output dynamic microphones are connected directly to modern interfaces. Having 26 dB of clean analog gain on tap before the interface's digital gain stage preserves the full low-midrange detail and presence that these microphone types are known for. The 100 Hz high-pass filter (12 dB) reduces proximity effect on close-miked sources, and the 3 kHz high-shelf boost (2.5 dB) adds clarity to darker microphones.
