Description
The Universal Audio Apollo x16D is an 18 x 20 rackmount audio interface that combines 16 x 16 Dante (or AES67 @ 48 kHz) networked I/O with elite-class Apollo X conversion, stereo AES I/O, and HEXA Core DSP for realtime UAD plug-in processing. It is designed for live consoles, networked studios, and houses of worship that need UAD channel inserts over Ethernet plus Thunderbolt host connectivity on Mac or Windows.
Dante Networking
Dual RJ45 ports (primary / secondary) provide 16 channels of Dante I/O with selectable Dante latency and network redundancy. AES67 mode is available at 48 kHz. Up to four x16D units can be linked for a 64-channel Dante system at 96 kHz. Stereo monitor outputs, stereo AES/EBU, word clock I/O, built-in talkback, and dual Thunderbolt 3 ports round out the rear panel.
DSP and Live Workflow
HEXA Core DSP runs UAD plug-ins at near-zero latency across Dante channels in UAD Console. Plug-In Scenes can be recalled over MIDI during a performance. The interface can expand with Thunderbolt Apollos and Dante-connected Apollo expanders where supported.
