Description
The Tascam FR-AV4 is a 4-channel 32-bit float field recorder with a built-in mixer, timecode generator, and HDMI sync capability. Featuring Ultra HDDA preamps with a 133 dB dynamic range, four XLR/TRS inputs, and support for 4K/8K HDMI pass-through, the FR-AV4 is designed for videographers, sound designers, and production professionals who need locked audio-video synchronization and pristine multi-channel recording in a compact, portable form factor.
133 dB Dynamic Range
Dual A/D converters deliver 133 dB of analog dynamic range with 32-bit float recording at 48, 96, or 192 kHz. The Ultra HDDA preamps (EIN -127 dBu) on all four XLR/TRS combo inputs capture everything from whispers to explosions without clipping or excessive noise floor.
HDMI Timecode Sync
The FR-AV4 enables precise audio-video synchronization via HDMI clock, with cascade and recording trigger control supporting 4K/8K video pass-through. In addition to HDMI, timecode is available via 3.5mm stereo TC IN/OUT, USB output, and wireless Atomos Bluetooth sync (with optional AK-BT2). A high-accuracy TCXO ensures reliable Jam Sync and timecode generation.
Built-In Mixer
Mix up to four inputs down to two outputs using the onboard mixer. The 1.9-inch color LCD touchscreen and intuitive jog wheel provide quick access to levels, routing, and processing.
6-Track Recording
Record six simultaneous tracks (four individual channels plus a stereo mix) to an SDXC card up to 512 GB. Multiple recording formats are supported including 32-bit float, 24-bit, and 16-bit WAV at sample rates up to 192 kHz.
