Description
The Concert Royal grand piano by Grotrian is rightly regarded as one of the finest grand pianos in the world. Its tone, responsive mechanism, and exceptional construction deliver unparalleled quality, refinement, and musicality—strengths that resonate all the way to the last row in large concert halls. Modartt is proud to present this magnificent instrument as a virtual piano for Pianoteq, authorized by Grotrian.
A fine-tuned physical model
The Pianoteq model has been meticulously fine-tuned to capture the characteristic clarity, warmth, and complex resonances of the original Concert Royal. With Pianoteq 9’s new audio engine, each note develops organically, creating a rich, evolving sound with enhanced stereo depth and spatial perception. The grand has also been revoiced, delivering a world-class concert experience with expressive, nuanced dynamics. Refreshed Binaural presets provide an immersive headphones experience, while new “Sombre” presets allow for silken, emotive tones perfect for cinematic and expressive performances.
About Grotrian
Founded in 1835 by Heinrich Steinweg in Seesen, Germany, Grotrian’s legacy continued when his son Theodore Steinweg partnered with Friedrich Grotrian in 1856. By collaborating with prominent pianists such as Clara Schumann, Franz Liszt, and Anton Rubinstein, Grotrian crafted pianos that pianists cherished and played intensively. Today, Grotrian grand pianos remain handmade in Germany, each taking eight months to produce, preserving the unique tone and love for music that defines the tradition.
