The Korg Volca FM 2 is a compact six-operator FM synthesizer that is fully compatible with patches from the Yamaha DX7. With six voices of polyphony (doubled from the original Volca FM), chorus and reverb effects, and the ability to load SysEx patch banks, it provides access to one of the most iconic synthesis architectures ever created in a battery-powered, portable format.
FM Synthesis
Six operators with 32 algorithms reproduce the full sound palette of classic FM synthesis: electric pianos, bells, brass, bass, pads, and percussive sounds. Full compatibility with DX7 SysEx patch data means thousands of classic and community-created patches are available. The built-in chorus and reverb effects add dimension to the characteristically bright FM tones.
