Description
The IsoAcoustics ISO-PUCK 76 is the largest puck in the range, rated at 40 lbs (18 kg) per unit and supplied two to a box. It is the version for heavy loads: guitar and bass amps, full size PA cabinets, large studio monitors and subwoofers.
Why Decoupling Matters on Stage
A cabinet sitting directly on a hollow stage or hard floor is coupled to it, and the floor then resonates as part of the speaker. Live, that produces booming low end that either swamps the room or drives stage volume up until the band cannot hear itself. In a control room the same effect adds bass that is not in the recording, which leads to bad mix decisions. The ISO-PUCK 76 lets the cabinet and the floor move independently so that transfer is minimized.
How the Puck Connects
The upper flange works like a suction cup against the underside of the cabinet so the top of the puck moves with the speaker, while the lower isolator anchors to the supporting surface. Use three or more per cabinet, keeping the combined total inside the rated capacity.
