Description
The Genelec 8340A is a Smart Active Monitor (SAM) featuring a 6.5" bass driver, 3/4" metal dome tweeter, and 300W of Class D amplification. With GLM room calibration and both analog and digital AES/EBU connectivity, the 8340A delivers elevated monitoring precision with bass extension to 38 Hz (-6 dB) and 110 dB of output. Built for medium-sized control rooms and professional facilities where calibrated accuracy and high SPL capability are both required.
Smart Active Monitoring (SAM)
- GLM calibration: Automated room compensation via Genelec Loudspeaker Manager software over RJ45 network
- Room-adaptive DSP: Multi-band equalization compensates for standing waves, reflections, and boundary effects at the listening position
- System alignment: Level alignment (60 dB range) and delay alignment (up to 200 ms) for stereo, surround, or immersive systems
- Digital audio: AES/EBU single-wire input and output supporting 16-24 bit, 32-192 kHz
