Description
The Furman M-8S is a 9-outlet 15-amp rackmount power sequencer and conditioner that solves one of live sound's most persistent problems: the dreaded speaker pop at power-up. By staggering the activation of your six sequenced rear-panel outlets, the M-8S ensures your amplifiers and powered monitors come on last — after signal sources, processors, and mixing gear are already running — eliminating the potentially damaging transients that blow tweeters and rattle cones. It also provides surge protection and RFI/EMI noise filtering to keep your entire rig running on clean, protected power.
Sequenced Power-Up Protection
- 6 sequenced rear outlets: Power up in controlled stages, keeping amplifiers and speakers off until the rest of the rig has stabilized.
- Adjustable delay: Set the sequencing interval to match your rig's startup time requirements.
- 2 unswitched rear outlets + 1 unswitched front outlet: Always-on power for devices like clocks, routers, or UPS units that should never lose power.
Conditioning & Protection
- RFI/EMI filtration: Reduces AC line noise entering your signal chain, lowering the noise floor across the rig.
- Surge and spike protection: Guards connected equipment from transient overvoltages on the AC line.
- 15A circuit breaker: Resettable protection against overloads.
Remote Control
- 4-pin Phoenix remote terminal: Connect a wall switch or relay for remote power sequencing from the front-of-house position or stage wings.
- LED indicators: Power, protection, and delay status visible at a glance from the front panel.
