Description
The ASM Hydrasynth Explorer Limited Edition is the same 8-voice wave-morphing synthesizer as the standard Explorer, finished in a distinctive orange colourway with matching knobs and panel accents. It carries the full Hydrasynth sound engine in a compact, battery-capable chassis with a 37-note mid-sized Polytouch keybed providing polyphonic aftertouch for per-note expression.
Sound Engine
Three WaveScan oscillators per voice draw from 219 single-cycle waveforms, routed through dual Mutator waveshapers (8 modes including FM, sync, and PWM variants) and a five-source mixer into two filters configurable in series or parallel. Filter 1 offers 16 selectable models including vowel and formant types; Filter 2 is a 12 dB/octave SEM-style state-variable design. Five DAHDSR envelopes and five LFOs per voice feed a 32-slot modulation matrix with 35 sources and 191 destinations.
