Description
The ASM Hydrasynth Keyboard is a 49-key, 8-voice wave-morphing synthesizer with the full-sized Polytouch polyphonic aftertouch keybed, a 4-octave (67 cm) ribbon controller, and dedicated pitch and mod wheels. It shares the same advanced wavetable engine as all Hydrasynth models but adds the expressive range of a full keybed and hands-on ribbon performance.
Sound Engine
Three WaveScan oscillators per voice offer 219 single-cycle waveforms, routed through four Mutator waveshapers with eight shaping modes. A five-source mixer (3 oscillators, noise, ring mod) feeds two filters configurable in series or parallel: Filter 1 provides 16 selectable models including vowel and comb types, Filter 2 is a 12 dB/octave state-variable SEM-style design. Five DAHDSR envelopes (with looping capability) and five LFOs (including 64-step pattern mode) per voice feed a 32-slot modulation matrix mapping 35 sources to 191 destinations.
Polytouch Keybed and Expression
The 49-key semi-weighted Polytouch keybed offers polyphonic aftertouch, note-on velocity, and note-off velocity, all independently routable in the mod matrix. A 4-octave ribbon controller supports pitch-bend, Theremin, and CC modulation modes, while dedicated pitch and mod wheels provide traditional performance controls.
