Description
The Arturia MiniFreak Vocoder Edition is a special run of the celebrated polyphonic hybrid synthesizer, dressed in a fearless white-and-orange livery and armed with a 16-band vocoder. Plug in the included gooseneck mic — or any external source — and reshape your voice into robotic choirs, shimmering pads, and spectral textures.
Dual digital engines, real analog filters, deep modulation, and 6-voice polyphony deliver the same Freak-grade sound design power that made the original a modern classic.
Hybrid Polysynth Power
Two digital engines drive 31 oscillator modes — Virtual Analog, FM, Karplus-Strong, Granular, Wavetable, Sample, Mutable Instruments-derived Plaits modes, and Noise Engineering modes — all routed through genuine analog state-variable filters. Stack the engines, FM-link them, or feed Engine 1 directly into Engine 2 for stacked sonic interplay, then sculpt with a 7-source modulation matrix, two LFOs with custom shaper, dual envelopes, and three FX engines.
16-Band Vocoder, Four FX Modes
The Vocoder Edition's defining feature is a dedicated 16-band vocoder with four FX modes. Use the bundled gooseneck microphone, route any external audio in, or even feed an internal patch through the vocoder for choral pads, robotic leads, talkbox growls, and spectral drones. Dedicated controls let you shift the sonic character in real time without diving through menus.
Mirrored in Software
MiniFreak Vocoder ships with MiniFreak V — a like-for-like VST/AU plugin that models the analog filters and mirrors the hardware patch-for-patch. Sync presets between hardware and software, design sounds in your DAW, then take them on stage with no translation gap.
Performance-Ready Control
A 37-note Slim-key keybed with aftertouch, dual capacitive touch strips for pitch / mod and macro tweaking, and Spice & Dice sequence mutation make MiniFreak Vocoder as expressive on stage as it is in the studio. The bright OLED screen and single-knob navigation keep deep menus accessible without slowing creative momentum.
