Description
The ART RP-1 is a preamp that relies on phantom power and is meant for use with a dynamic or ribbon microphone. It is designed to increase the performance of the microphone, allowing you to get a cleaner, more nuanced tone across long cable runs or when routing your mic into your recording interface.
The preamp accommodates one microphone via XLR connection. A variable impedance control lets you customize the performance of each of your dynamic or ribbon mics with the preamp, doing so to ensure the best tonal performance. A low-cut filter set to 100 Hz lets you take bass-heavy rumble and noise out of the signal.
The preamp runs on phantom power from mixers and interfaces, so as a bonus, you will not harm your ribbon mics with phantom power if the RP-1 sits between your mic and its eventual destination.
