warm-audio-wa87jr-blk-b1
Warm Audio WA-87jr Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone (Black) (Warehouse Deal, Demo, minor marks)

The Warm Audio WA-87jr (Black) is a large-diaphragm, transformerless FET condenser microphone that captures the detailed, polished tone of classic 87-style studio microphones. It features a gold-sputtered, dual-backplate K87-style capsule, the same capsule found in the flagship WA-87 R2, with a fully discrete signal path. Three switchable polar patterns (cardioid, figure-8, omnidirectional), a -10 dB pad, and an 80 Hz high-pass filter provide flexibility for vocals, acoustic guitar, piano, drums, podcasting, and streaming. This is the black finish version.

The transformerless output stage delivers a clean, transparent signal that lets the K87-style capsule character come through without additional coloration. With 9 dBA self-noise and 116 dBA dynamic range, the WA-87jr handles the wide dynamic swings of vocal performances and acoustic instruments with clarity. The 80 Hz high-pass filter reduces low-frequency rumble from room noise, and the -10 dB pad extends SPL handling to 135 dB for louder sources like drum kits and guitar cabinets. The dual-backplate capsule provides three polar patterns for different recording setups, from focused cardioid for solo vocals to figure-8 for face-to-face interviews.

Specifications

Type: FET condenser (transformerless)

Capsule: Gold-sputtered, dual-backplate K87-style

Polar patterns: Cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-8

Frequency response: 20 Hz to 20 kHz

Max SPL: 125 dB (135 dB with pad)

Output impedance: 100 Ohms

Self-noise: 9 dBA

Dynamic range: 116 dBA

Sensitivity: 10 mV/Pa (-40 dB)

Pad: -10 dB

High-pass filter: 80 Hz

Power: 48V phantom power

Finish: Black

Dimensions: 203 x 57 mm (8" x 2.25")

Weight: 0.6 kg (1.3 lb)

In the Box

WA-87jr microphone (black)

Shockmount

Hard mount

Leather storage pouch

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0746/5766/1177/files/WA87JR-BLK_1ca635e6-d8a6-4bb0-bb3b-aec75a02a4e2.jpg?v=1765322529
